Book Review: The Naked Trader's Guide to Spread...

naked traders guide to spread betting
Spread betting is ever-growing in popularity, I believe it has started to take over the retail CFD market, and even may replace it...

The Naked Trader's Guide to Spread Betting is authored by Robbie Burns, a.k.a The Naked Trader. Robbie has been trading for over 10 years and is the owner and sole contributor to Robbie is well-known for his comical and down-to-earth approach to trading. He mainly trades stocks and shares and often uses spread betting as a way to short sell stocks. Burns is not a Forex trader but his book is about trading, more specifically spread betting. As most UK retail traders now use some form of spread betting, I thought best to include a
review of The Naked Trader's Guide to Spread Betting on this Forex review website.

Below is my review of The Naked Trader's Guide to Spread Betting...

It is Fun

Robbie Burns is a very fun author. While reading his book, I laughed several times and was regularly smiling. His approach to trading and writing is very down-to-earth, there is no flowery language and Robbie writes as if he were talking to an old friend. This makes The Naked Trader's Guide to Spread Betting an easy, welcoming and enjoyable read.

A Good Overview and Introduction to Spread Betting

If you are new to spread betting then this is the book for you. The book has a detailed, yet simple, introduction and overview of spread betting. The publication focuses on spread betting shares but the content is just as applicable to spread betting Forex, commodities and ETF's. The book covers some technical analysis but it is much more directed at how to spread bet, including opening and closing positions and spread betting terminology.

It's Honest

Robbie has a unique trading style. He uses very little technical analysis and focuses much more on common sense trading. His material is always very honest and realistic.

If you are looking for a beginners guide or introduction to spread betting, then this can be a worth well publication. If you are looking for anything more than this, this book will disappoint. The Naked Trader's Guide to Spread Betting is exactly as the title suggests, it is a fun read and is simply a guide to on-line trading using spread bets.

The Complete Investment Banking Course is not a trading course.
